Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration  Everything We Know So Far

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is celebrating three decades of cards, battles, artwork, and unforgettable memories with Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration.

Scheduled to begin releasing worldwide on September 16, 2026, the anniversary expansion brings together Pokémon from across multiple generations while placing one of the franchise's most iconic characters at the center of the celebration: Pikachu.

With special anniversary cards, returning Legendary Pokémon, unique artwork, premium products, and several highly collectible promos, 30th Celebration is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated Pokémon TCG releases of 2026.

30 Special Pikachu Cards

One of the defining features of 30th Celebration is a collection of 30 different Pikachu cards, representing the Pokémon TCG's 30-year history.

Each 30th Celebration booster pack is expected to contain one of these special Pikachu cards, featuring a shimmering fireworks-style effect across the card.

The different illustrations showcase Pikachu through a wide variety of artistic styles, making the complete collection especially interesting for both long-time collectors and newer Pokémon fans.

One of the standout cards revealed so far features artwork by Ken Sugimori, one of the original artists behind Pokémon. Its design pays tribute to Pikachu's classic, rounder appearance from the early years of the franchise.

Day and Night Pikachu ex

The anniversary celebrations go even further with special Day and Night Pikachu ex cards.

Both regular versions and Special Illustration Rare versions have been revealed, giving collectors multiple interpretations of the anniversary mascot.

The contrasting Day and Night concepts create two distinct visual identities and are also connected to premium products featuring Espeon ex and Umbreon ex.

Legendary Pokémon Return for the Anniversary

Lugia is particularly interesting for long-time collectors because its design includes a direct callback to the legendary Pokémon's appearance during the Neo era of the Pokémon TCG.

Reshiram, Zekrom and a Special Unown

More recent reveals include Alolan Exeggutor and Scraggy, showing that the set will continue to feature Pokémon well beyond the usual anniversary favorites.

Alolan Exeggutor also receives additional attention through an alternate-art promotional card planned for a 30th Celebration Tech Sticker Collection.

This is another indication that collectors will need to look beyond booster packs if they want to discover every anniversary promo and artwork released alongside the expansion.
